Join Or Renew Membership: Committees

The Villages RoVers is one of the largest and most active FMCA chapters in the country, thanks to the active participation and contributions of our members. Our chapter’s success relies heavily on the work of its committees, and as a member, you may be asked to join one of these committees if needed. On the membership registration form, you'll find a section where you can indicate your preferred committee. Below is an overview of each committee. Please review the descriptions and select a committee you would join on the member personal information form that follows.

Rally Planning & Communication Committee

Help select RV Park locations for future Rallies
Recruit members to serve as Rally Hosts and Co-Hosts
Communicate to members upcoming Rallies and how to sign up for them
Mentor/train members serving as Rally Hosts for the first time

SIG Planning & Communication Committee

Coordinate Monthly SIG’s
Identify topics that will benefit our Chapter
SIG – Hold open forum at SIG Meetings
Recruit members to assist with monthly SIG’s – in an open discussion

RV Vendor Partnership Committee

Visit local RV Service Centers & Storage Centers to get local businesses involved with the RoVers
Bring monthly reports to meetings
Invite businesses to come to RoVers meetings

Hospitality Committee

Arrive 15 minutes prior to our monthly club and SIG meetings to make sure coffee & water have been prepared by the Everglades Rec Center Employee
Stay 15 minutes after our monthly club and SIG meetings to make sure coffee & water station is neat & tidy
Mail get-well cards to club members who are dealing with health concerns.

Social Committee

Recommend and put on social activities approved by the Board of Directors
No prerequisites required except the desire to have a good time with our members

Merchandising Committee

Develop and promote Villages RoVers branded merchandise to members
Arrive 15 minutes prior to our monthly meetings to set-up merchandise table
Willingness to show and take orders for RoVers merchandise

Bylaws Committee

Review and update the rules the govern The Villages Rovers and report recommendations to the board of directors
Work together as a team to review our operating rules and identify opportunities for improvement

Publishing Committee

General knowledge of computer use and information management (files/folders, document types)
Willingness to learn how to update existing applications, eg. RoVers Cookbook, Campground Reviews
Identify opportunities to expand our knowledge based resources

New Member Welcome Committee

Outgoing friendly personality to welcome prospective and new members to our chapter
Able to attend monthly general meetings

Technical Committee

Responsible for maintenance and operation of RoVers on-line activities
Members should have technical on-line or IT experience
Reports to the board of directors
